Question: Should our EIN be printed on letters requesting donations?

We are 1 1/2 years into the 501c3 process. We are getting ready to start soliciting businesses for donations for a spring carnival. Does our EIN need to be on the letter given to the businesses or is there an IRS form for this purpose?

The EIN is just a unique identifier for your group. It doesn't need to be included on your soliciation letters. If an organization requests proof of your non-profit status, you might want to have copies of your letter of determination available. This letter also has your EIN on it so that should suffice.
