Question: recycling help

It seems that we are seeing a lot of trash in the recycling bins and a lot of recyclables in the trash cans, especially in the cafeteria. Any ideas on the best practices to improve this? Should we start by educating and asking the teachers for more help, or should we start by educating the children somehow? Need help!

It definitely starts with education. You might place posters in the cafeteria stating the difference between trash and recyclables and the importance of recycling. You could also try posting a volunteer by the trash and recycling bins to help kids make the right choices. A fun challenge can be a Zero Waste Day, where you challenge the kids not to create any trash -- just recycling.
