Question: VP left with angry resignation-- how to note in minutes?

Our VP read an angry statement and resigned at our meeting (she had been asked by the board to resign or face a vote to remove, per the bylaws, due to lack of participation and improper behavior toward school staff). Her statement made false accusations and misquoted board members. She also threatened to sue the PTO but decided it would just hurt the children. 1) How do we note the resignation in the minutes, 2) should we insist on having a copy of the letter for PTO records, and 3) are there any other actions we need to take?

I have had to handle this in a group I am the President of and the Treasurer resigned and it was also an ugly letter. Just right in the minutes that the resignation was accepted and you should have a copy always for your records and you can also attach it to your minutes if you want (your call) That is what our attorney advised us to do in our group
