Question: Funds Marching

Do anyone have a sample letter they have used to ask local businesses to match funds the school gets in Box Tops?

That's an interesting idea -- I haven't heard of groups asking specifically for matching funds for Box Tops. A more common request is for prizes to help encourage students to collect box tops. We don't have exactly what you're looking for, but you can find several donation request letters in the File Exchange, under the fundraising and Box Tops for Education categories. I would think a letter like that would need to address an expected amount -- ie, donation up to $500 -- or at least give the business an idea of what the typical collection amount is. Also, it would help to let the business know what they get in return. In other words, tell them specifically how you will let parents (and the community) know about their generosity: thanks in your newsletter, put their logo on your fliers, send a press release to the local newspaper, etc.
