Question: PTO Bank Balance

The PTO at our local elementary will not share the bank balance with parents or teachers at the monthly meetings. Many people have requested a full review of the account and the PTO executive board refuses to update the parents and teachers. The executive board says this is their exclusive information. Is this claim correct?

Your group should be presenting a treasurer's report that shows recent financial activity and a current balance at each meeting. Financial information isn't considered "exclusive information.''
