Question: new school started

We are a new christian school that was just started a little over 2 years ago. We don't have alot of students right now. was wondering if a pto would be good for us right now or wait until the school grows more with more students and parents? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You can certainly get it started now. It might be small, but a PTO is a great way to foster a school community. It gives parents a great way to get involved, meet each other and start working together toward a common cause -- helping your kids have a wonderful school experience. We have lots of articles on our site that would give you tips for getting things going. One article on starting a PTO has lots of great tips. Good luck and keep in touch!

It all goes back to why you have a PTO. If your purpose is to support students, having mroe volunteers than students makes little sense. Stay focused on your purpose and your PTO will grow as needed.
