Question: New Treasurer before school starts

We need to vote in a new treasurer before the new school year begins. Do we have to hold a general PTO meeting to vote or can the current board vote one in?

It depends on what your bylaws state.
USUALLY, if you had a treasurer and she/he resigned, then your board fills the vacancy. If you never elected one, you had an INCOMPLETE election and should elect one at a membership meeting. This does not apply to most PTAs. Their rules are different.
