Question: form 1023 Part VIII number 5

'm in the mist of this 501 c 3 application, down to the financials, as i look at other ptos appplication on line i see they said they are not affiliated with a government unit. a public school is a governmental unit right? we are affiliated right? just questioning myself. any help would help thanks.

No, unless your group is unusual, you're not affiliated. For the purposes of your 1023, you are an independent organization. Your mission is to aid the school, but you don't have a direct affiliation in the sense it means here (ie controlled by or mostly controlled by a government entity).
