Question: bylaws

Have recently read over the bylaws for our particular pto and it seems that the President, VP, Treasurer, and secretary are the only ones that are allowed to make any votes on anything. Then why should I have to pay to be a member if I am not allowed to vote on anything. They also seem to pick and choose who and who cannot be a member of the pto is this allowed?

It all depends on the by-laws. If they say the board picks the members, then the board picks the members. But I would not pay to join an organization like that, and maybe there are other who share your views, and you can get the board to acknowledge that they'd rather have more members so they can get more dues, more help with events, and more suggestions.
