Question: Board Member Issue

I am the president of our school's PTO/Booster Club. I have received complaints from other board members and parents about one of the board. She is loud, obnoxious, interrupts during meetings, talks inappropriately around everyone (including children), and gets visually angry when she doesn't get her way. I have personally observed all of these things and am unsure of how we should handle it. Many would like her removed from the board. What should we do in this situation?

Has anyone pulled this women aside to let her know about she should behave during a meeting? Officially/Unofficially?? Or ask her if she is aware that her behavior is disruptive to the other members/parents. Someone may need to remind her that she is a representative of the school and her attitude reflects badly on the school. Is it a personnel thing that she is going through, maybe a medical condition? Do you have any policies about decorum in a meeting? Hand her a copy of Browns! You can also let her know that if she is that unhappy she can always resign her position. After that, I have no idea what to do. Good luck in this, its always hard dealing with someone like this.
