Question: Charter School PTO and School Board Director President

The President of the School board attended our last PTO meeting and said that the PTO was a committee of the School Board is this true?

It's possible. PTOs can be set up in any one of a number of ways. If you don't have a separate EIN from the IRS that is different from the school's, then it might make sense that you are not an organization separate from the school.

Did you hold elections- if so, I'd say you were NOT a committee of the SB. The policies manual of the SB would list your PTO as a committee.
