Hi ddlhughs,
In most cases the board discusses all decisions that need to be made and comes to a consensus with the president's guidance. There may be some circumstances where the president needs to act immediately (say the DJ cancels out last minute for a family event, the committee chair needs immediate approval to hire someone else, and only the president can be reached), or the president may have to break a tie vote on the board. But, for the most part, decision-making should be a team effort.
