Enforcing By-laws

Can an Executive Board vote amongst themselves whether or not to enforce something in their By-laws or would it have to be put to a vote by the membership? If it can be done by the Exec. Bd., does it have to be 100% or would it be the majority?

I suppose it depends on the issue. Do you have details that my help?

My first reaction is that if something is currently in violation of your bylaws, a vote isn't necessary. You simply bring the issue into compliance.

If your board is aware of an issue of noncompliance but chooses to disregard it, I'd say you're asking for trouble.
