Anyone have sample articles & by-laws or experience incorp & filing for 501c3 in VA? We are a Prince William County Elem School PTO. The PTo has been around for a number of years but had never been incorporated etc. thanks!

Although incorporation can be different state by state, the 501c3 process is federal so it does not vary. Our start up guide Expert Guidance is a great resource for helping with the details.

If you're a PTO (as opposed to a nationally-affiliated PTA), there are no "officioal" bylaws for any state. You might have to handle your problem directly, without the aid of bylaws, if there your specific PTO has never adopted any.

St. Joseph Chargers Parents Organization
We are very proud of our Parent Organization. A parent volunteered to create the page, and it is linked from our school website. We are a private Catholic school. We have a sub-committee assigned to review the by-laws for this year, and make the necessary updates in the upcoming month.
