Hi, I'm also on a commitee at my kids school that does a teacher luncheon once a month. We are planning a potato bar for this year. Can you tell me which restauruant you asked for the donations? And how you presented it? Sometimes that is the key =) Thank you

So far parents have been over willing to donate and we have not had to use any money out of our budget. Donations are great and people are willing to help out.

A baked potato bar is very popular at our school.

In our elementary, we had it rotate by grade as well. That was by far the best method ever. Each grade came up at most twice as we did something special at Christmas and May. People knew when their month was and were happy to donate and/or volunteer since it wasn't hitting up the same people month after month.

We did the bake potato bar a couple times also. They were wonderful. The cafeteria cooked the potatoes and we kept them warm in crockpots. The parents donated all the topings, sides (salad?), and desserts. I think we may have purchased the potatoes so they would all be the same size. Yummy!

I agree, soup and chili. My favorite to serve is taco soup (Weight Watchers has a delicious version). And chili with fritos is always a winner. And down south here we love gumbo!!

A taco bar or baked potato bar is also great.

We just had a teacher's luncheon with a mexican theme. We had tacos, fajitas, mexican cornbread and enchilada casserole.

An italian theme would be easy. Spaghetti, salad and breadsticks or garlic cheese bread.

We used Subway last spring for a teacher appreciation lunch and they sent a TON of food. They sent us 3 tray of various 6 inch single meat sandwiches and separate containers with all the fixings. There was so much lettuce and veggies left over some of the teachers used them to make salads the next day!
