Who all do you include when doing appreciation? We have about 30 teachers but when all "staff" is included in it's closer to 85 people (including the preschool staff, the afterschool care staff, the music teachers, the lunchroom staff, etc).

I already do a staff coffee once a month and EVERYONE is invited to that. I have abudget of $50 per month and also try to get donations for the coffee. I do small things (like candy with a saying) but would like to do some bigger things for JUST the teachers. But the one time I tried that all heck broke loose because other people got their feelings hurt. With only $50 and 85 staff I can't even spend $1 per person.

Just curious how others handle the teacher vs staff issues.

You could try having a special something for just your teachers on an alernating month. Then the following month do the rest of the staff, if you want. then all is happy!! Best of luck!!

or....just do something for everyone every other month giving you time for donations and cordnating with parents for help with donations of fun stuff.

You will never satisfy all the people all the time but you can sure comprimise enough to keep them smiling!

I vote with mykidsmom. Do something every other month for everyone. We always include all staff in anything we do.

We do custodians day, secretary day and kitchen staff day, so when teacher appreciation day arrives, we don't have a problem. But since all the other days are early in the year, we try to do a little thank you with candy for the others in april.

we do all of our staff and mostly just during staff appreciation week in May. We do some small mailbox candy things during certain months, prize drawings and sometimes a lunch during the winter months. The thing is alot of times that support staff helps us out alot...custodians, office secretaries so you need to make them included I would say at all times.
