Student Volunteers

Student Volunteers was created by New Volunteer Coordinator
I am a new volunteer coordinator and am currently having issues with my student (college) volunteers. They both need a certain number of volunteer hours to complete within their 8 week summer school term. I have made mutually agreed upon schedules so they may complete their hours. I have been finding that they are not on track to completing their hours. They both will show up late, leave early, and/or not show up at all. I have reminded them many times that they have hours to complete and verbalize understanding but are not actually completing them.

What is an appropriate plan of action? I am thinking that at this point, I need to ask them to get in contact with their professor and let them know that they are not on track. I feel that since they are working to earn college credit, it is their responsibility to complete the required number of hours.

Any suggestions are useful.
