running for a Board postion

We need help with a problem. We have a person who wants to run for a postion on the Board and we the Board now and some of the parents don't feel that this person is in good standing with the P.T.O. in our school. Our By-Laws don't have any thing in them concerning this subject. We would like ideas on how to stop her?

Have someone run against her and let the most popular win, let all the parents have a say as to who is on the board.

agrre with Gary. It's Ok to vote for someone else but i think she should be allowed to run. I also like the idea of having some rules in your bylaws about who is eligible for executive board. At our school, you have to have attended half the meetings in the previous year.
