School Calendars as a Fundraiser??

I am interested in doing a school calendar as a fundraiser. I don't know much about doing this but my idea was to get pics or maybe clip art to use on the top half and then add all the days off and other important info including PTO Meeting nights.

Has anyone done this? Did it work? Was it worth it?

We doa calendar--nothing incredibly fancy but it does have all the dates listed in it. We give them away as part of our membership fee or sell them for 1.50 a piece. Not a lot but they all vanish quickly...d

We do both a mini calendar and a mini directory. Its the same district wide school calendar, but we just shrink it down. The same thing with our school's directory. Just a mini version. We sell each for about $3. It was designed so that people can just put it in their purses, glove compartment of the car etc. Very big seller for us.

Wal-Mart has a calander that they do but its $20 per calander. WAY TOO MUCH!! But it gave me the idea of doing it ourselves and possible saving money that way. I hadn't thought about B&W pics but I LOVE THAT. And that would be cheaper.
