I looked through their website and couldn't find that statement anywhere. What's the link that you're using?

From the "Contact Us" page - there is a menu of contact reasons. I selected the "Sponsorships and Donations" item, then it took me to the statement.

To be honest, the day I copied that Outback seemed to be having problems with their server and I think I copied from a cached page. Looks like they've edited a bit since then. When I looked at it today, the statement is worded slightly different but still has the same basic meaning.

Unfortunately now it just says "...many meaningful organizations" and completely deleted the next two sentences. My local store said they only donate food to huge gatherings like the Boys & Girls Club, etc... and that I could submit for a basic GC, but that it would be sent to corporate upon submission for review, regardless.
Getting Outback donated sure would top the hot dog vendor I have lined up. I guess I'll contact a different store, but it's another 10 miles away. <crossing fingers>

It's definitely worth a try. I only heard bits and pieces, but the one closest to our school apparently wouldn't give requestors the time of day, much less a donation. But this other one (until it closed) was a huge supporter.
