to BBB or not to BBB

While reading all of these posts about bamkruptcy, companies oweing money etc...should we look for better business bureau companies or not?

I am thinking we should value BBB but I want to hear if you agree or disagree!

THANKS!!!

Checking BBB for complaints is certainly wise, but I don't think I'd use "are they a member of BBB" as a factor. Tons and tons of good companies are *not* members of BBB, just because they don't feel like shelling out the membership bucks to "prove" they're good.

Several of the troubled companies of recent years are/were BBB members before their troubles started.
