School directory coupons

3 Years, 12 Months ago

I have just been canvassing for auction donations in my neighborhood, and in one business the manager told me she wanted to set up a deal with our school. She'd provide coupons for her business, which we'd distribute to our families, and for each one redeemed the school PTO would get $1.

It's a nice fundraiser, a passive one without pressure, and I thought that one way to distribute it would be to include it in our school directory, which nearly everyone gets.

That got me thinking that maybe we could try and get other such coupons for our directory. Does anyone else do this? What kinds of businesses seem to respond best? Local or national? The business that initially offered this is a local haircutting place. I think the idea of perforated coupons, raising PTO funds, is intriguing.

Thanks in advance for any info!

We did this in the back of our cookbook. The businesses liked it, and they paid a little for the space, too, but noone redeemed a single coupon.

If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down. <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>

(Not even the one from a car dealer that would give the school $100 if you bought a car there!)
