12-hour Scrapbook Crop Fundraiser UPDATE!!!

We had our scrapbook crop fundraiser on Jan. 24 and it was a big success. We raised $2000 for Ewell. I'm already planning the next one. I received a lot of feedback from the scrappers who attended, all of which said they can't wait for the next one.

I'm eager to share my notes with anyone who would like them, however there are quite a few pages and would be too long to post. If you are interested in my notes, please don't hesitate to email me and I will be glad to send them to you.

What a great idea! We are always looking for new and different ideas for fun nights/fundraisers. My only questions are: 1)did you charge per person/table space? 2)did you have someone there from a company i.e. Creative Memories to offer items? I am a rookie when it comes to scrapbooking but I have many friends that are "extreme professionals". Please fill me in on the details. Thanks in advance.

Mom4ever,

I charged the following:
$15/1/2 day
$30/full day
This was to reserve your table space.

I did not have a Creative Memories consultant there. First of all, Those I talked to were going to charge an additional fee for workshops which would take away from the school. Also, in my experience, most people who attend a 12-hour crop have experience scrapbooking, and usually know of a scrapbook consultant or two. They don't want to spend time sitting at their workshops they want to get their own cropping done.

If you would like more info, please email me and I'd be glad to send you all my notes.

I would love to have your notes, and I appreicate you offering them also. Heck if you were in Indiana I'd be willing to come to the school just to attend. I just started scrapbooking and have become addicted...plus i'm the fundraiser chair so this would be great!!

We have been thinking of doing this event. I have been in charge of a craft faire at our school for the past 2 years. It is a lot of work and there are no guarantees about how many shoppers will come. Plus there is no one in our parent club who is willing to take it over in 2 years when my son moves on to Jr. High. So we have cancelled our craft faire permanently. I was looking at something else to do and had thought about this. One of our board members has a friend who does this in her home with vendors and scrapers but it is getting too big. They would love to have a larger space. This would give us a huge head start. I thought about having the vendors/reps there but only to sell stock items or get future business (parties) from the scrappers. Any way.........I will e-mail you directly for your notes. I look forward to reading them. Thanks for all the hard work.
