Math a thon/ Spelling bees

Can anyone help me find information on using spelling bees, etc. as fundraisers. I really would like to find something that would help promote more learning and education but at the same time help raise funds. I am fundraiser coordinator for our PTO. We are curently grades 3-6 but 2002-2003 we will become grades 6-8. Thanks for your input
