Hi,
I have just been elected PTO President and having never done anything like this before I could certainly use some tips and advise. I need to do the best job I can for the school and the children. Thanks!

mangrum:Being PTO president is an awesome responsibility, thank you for taking it on. I am hoping you can get some basic information from your previous Pres. There are so many things...what areas are you finding difficulty in? I'm sure by now you have browsed the discussion boards here and hopefully that has helped. Good Luck.

Congratulations! Welcome aboard!! Our PTO has come to an understanding that in lacking parent involvement at the meetings especially during election time(this is O.K. with us as we do have numerous volunteers when we ask for help) that any title that is held be it President, Vice, Treasurer, or Secretary, we are all there to help each other. Hopefully your past President or any other member has kept notes to pass along. If not, this will be your learning year and will be smooth sailing there after. I am in my 4th year as President(bylaws state 2 yr. term, unless, no one wants position)and this held true for me. Keep in mind, it is for the children that we do this.
