Assets - How to transfer them to the school

Page: 1

We have minimal assets and minimal $$. We have agreed to disband and our budget to finish out the year (year end June 30, 2009) will be less than $500 left in the bank account. How do we ensure we transfer our physical assets to the school? Our administration is on board with everything so we feel comfortable doing this. We only have a digital camera, storage locker, popcorn machine and Halloween decorations as assets. How do we ensure the STATE PTA does not get these? Is there a asset transfer form or process that someone can recommend?

Thanks for any insight,
Gary Cole

Hi Gary,

The Business Manager for your school district will be able to assist your organization
with transferring these assets. Furnish the Business Manager with supporting documentation of the Cash account and log the inventory items. The Business Manager should be able to inform your organization when the next school committee meeting is being held. The assets being transferred to the school district will be voted on and documented in the minutes. Once the vote is approved the Business Manager may complete the Transfer of Assets Form and receive the proper signatures required. Good Luck.

Best Regards,
Kelli
