PTO President on a power trip?

I am currently the president of our PTSO and hope that no one feels this way about me. Maybe she doesn't know how horrible she is coming across. Try telling her you want to improve the "team work of the PTO" and express how you feel unappreciated or mistreated without pointing the finger directly at her as that may make her defensive. Hopefully this will open her eyes if she is not fully aware of her behavior. If she continues to "shut you out" then team up with other PTO members and work to help them with their tasks instead of her. Don't let her force you out as the school and the kids need you. Good luck :)

PTO President on a power trip? was created by vicepresidenthadenough
I am at the end of my rope with our President and its only a month and a half into school. Of course we have been working together since end of the last school year. I am not the only one that has noticed this person seems to be on a "power trip". I just don't know what to do. My husband wants me to quit the PTO. I don't want to just up and quit but the stress this person is causing is affecting my health and other areas of my life. I have wanted on the PTO for awhile now and was very excited when I won VP! I have always been involved in the school regardless and would remain involved. Though I think if I were to quit she would make things rather difficult for me.

The President is sweet as pie around other people. The minute they leave she get rude with me and talk down to me. No one else sees this. She is also this way on the phone. She ignores all my ideas, has thrown out several documents I created and spent time on. Undermines me all the time as if I am a child and is constantly micro managing every job I have. Constant emails and text asking if I am done or have dates yet. I don't know if she does this to others either. Her mother works at the school and is loved by everyone so I don't feel like I can go to anyone there.

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
