Parent Association will not disclose financials

Thanks so much that was incredibly helpful! So I will wait until the 990's become available, but do you know of any regulations regarding the their requirement to have the day-to-day financials available? Maybe there is none. :S

Type this into your Google search bar and look for the PDF that comes up in the search results. Questions about Requirements for Exempt Organizations to Disclose IRS Filings to the General Public

Basically, 990s are public documents and they have to release a copy to anyone who asks; there are penalties for not giving them out.

For many years our school has had an HSA (Home/School Association) and for the 2013-2014 year we had a new 501(c)3 as a PA (Parent Association). That PA has now ended and a new HSA has taken over. We have made several requests for financials, even not as an HSA but also as Parent Volunteers, but they will not disclose them. How can this be handled? Are they required to provide them or have them available in the office? The principal is really no help at all. They have filed a 990 a few weeks ago but I'm not sure if we will have access to that either.
