Unique officer installation ceremonies

I had a similar post. Since then I have found some fun ceremonies by doing a web search. I suggest google.com Search "officer installation ceremonies". You can also search using specific ceremonies ex. "candle installation", "candybar installation" (that's a good one!), "herb installation" (I did that one last year and it was great)

I have also seen installations using pens, seeds and flowers. If you use these words along with installation ceremonies on google, you'll find some fantastic cermonies that you can adapt for your group.

I tried to find that site on myschool.com that has installation ideas and it must be gone (that was almost 2 years ago). Anyone with that unique installation idea still hanging around??

That was cool. I never thought about having ceromonies to let the new officers take over. All we do in administer the oath and hand over the gavel. I see a new future

If for some reason it doesn't work right, do a search on Yahoo for "installation ceremony ideas" and look at the cached version of Lakewood PTA.

A few years ago we had a PTA installation that was kind of different. The President bought small Matchbox/Hot Wheel cars and each board member was given one along with a short speech about why this car was appropriate for their job; the mayor was on hand for the ceremony (he's very involved in our school), as were the principal and other "important people". I don't remember the gist of what was said, but I know I, as 2nd vp (fundraising), got a speedboat for reasons that made sense at the time. (Part of the reasoning was that I couldn't have a car since I don't drive, but that's all I remember.)

shumphrey-I'd like to hear more about your council too. Is it like an LEF? Do you get financial backing or are you just there to be an ear and a voice? It sounds like a great way to bring the community together for the sake of all your students!

I've never heard of installation ceremonies. Be patient and I am sure someone on here will have some very insightful suggestions.
