husbands job is on the line. thinking of relocating to somewhere where the taxes won't kill me.
Can anyone out there give me any info on these areas?
Don't tell KMAMOM that I might be moving. She WILL kill me!
Thanks in advance.

Hate to tell you... you told KMAMOM already by printing that. She always reads these discussion forums, although we do not all chime in on a daily basis, we do lurk.....

If you don't mind the cold, Kansas isn't bad. You know, "There's no place like home!" I lived outside of Kansas City, MO and outisde of Fort Worth, TX and liked both of those places well enough and thought that they were all about the same for what I was in the market for. I will never live in a big city again but 10-20 minutes outside usually have lower taxes and better schools. Good luck.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Well, come down to Florida, we don't have any state taxes, but depending on what type of job market you're looking at a lot would depend on where you might need to live. Some places the cost of living is much higher than were I live, but then again, the pay would be much higher.

I know that a lot of people in my area drive to Gainesville because the pay is higher, but live in Marion County (about a 40 mile drive) is much cheaper on housing, food, etc.

KY does have state taxes. But you are welcome to come! It seems like for every factory that closes another one opens or an existing one opens. Of course these are in neighboring counties as my county only has two very small ones. I hope things look up for your family!
