Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to start my donations requests for this year. If anyone has a list of places to contact for the Southern California area, I'd love to share ideas. I have a google spreadsheet I made with all the companies I have contacted, the links to their donation pages, and what they donated (if anything). I'd be happy to share a copy if anyone is interested. Email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thank you!

I think your best bet is to approach local businesses. Your event is for part of the high school (after prom) versus the entire school, which means you may not have a 501c3 number to use. Most big chains need the 501c3 number. Local manicure, restaurant, car wash, etc. will be easier to obtain.

I just saw your post. I don't know who all responded, but from my experience, the big corporations won't donate because they give more to global organizations. Still seems like they can give back locally, but they don't. Your best bet are the smaller chains, small business, etc. It is tough... good luck.

What are you trying to get for after prom party? Are these giveaways, raffles, ???

I'm new here! I've read through all 96 pages! A wealth of info! Thank you!
My purpose is a little bit different. I am the fundraising chairperson for an after prom party for our high school in Kansas. This is my second year trying to get this all figured out. We solely survive on cash and in-kind donations.
I have a question for you veterans...
I've filled out requests for Otterbox, Sunglass Hut, Hershey's, Under Armour, Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Cracker Barrel...most of the big corporations I could find.
Granted this is only my second year, but I've been declined on all of these. Has anyone had any luck when applying year after year? Or is it a complete waste of my time to request donations from these big agencies each year? I'm not dependent on any of these, just thought a donation from them would be really cool.
Thoughts??
Thank you!
