Back to School Gift for Teachers

I can't imagine being able to get gift cards for everyone, including band, counselors etc. We do what others suggested and ask parents to donate food to a breakfast for all staff. That way everyone is covered. Wondering where the money comes from to do gift cards?

Hey Everyone,
Go check out TeacherWishList.com!

Our parent company, School Family Media, just launched this site with the sponsorship of P & G's Bounty brand (remember the We Love our School program?)It takes the old-fashioned printed wish list and makes it a lot more new-fashioned by using the web, email tools and even social media. Teachers can load their lists (or parents or your PTO can load the lists for them) and then share and update the lists and basically get the help they deserve. I bet the teachers at your school would be psyched to start off the school year with a teacher wish list!

Also, for a limited time, there are some great giveaways with Teacher Wish List. Each week, Bounty is giving 10 teachers $462 (the amount they spend on average out of their own pockets), and participating schools will be entered to win a $25,000 creative classroom makeover, as well. It’s great stuff! And we here at PTO Today have added a bit to the pot with $462 grants for PTOs and PTAs that get their whole school involved.

On a different note, if you want to create a cute welcome back to school gift to put in the teacher's classrooms, check out our File Exchange for fun printables. My fav is the printable coffee tags that say "Thanks a latte for all you do!"

A continental breakfast, as FoxMom suggested is also always a big hit!

Best of luck,

~Lisa

We give classroom teachers like 50.00 each and non-classroom teachers 25.00.

Also at Bath and Bodyworks they have 75% off gift so you can get cheap lotions tp put in their desks desks and a little note.
Hope that helps!

What about having a continental breakfast at the three schools and send email invites or post an invitation in the main office where all teachers and staff come in-- this way you can include everyone and those that want something, can stop by-- alot of times you can get great prices on donuts and bagels from local stores when they know its for a school-- same thing with coffee if you do not have enough pots (dunkin donuts, panera bread, bagel stores-- ) plus a few gallons of oj and cream cheese and you're all set...

The other item I could suggest if you want it to be a gift is make stress ball relievers out of latex balloons and sand with a note attached to it-- not that expensive and very easy to make.
Good luck!

We want to get our teachers a back-to-school gift card to help with supplies. We cover prek-6 and cross 3 schools. Where do you draw the line on who gets the gift? Do you include areas like band, chorus, school counselors, social workers, psychologist? We don't want anyone to feel left out but we can't afford it if we include eveyone.

Thanks.
