Our biggest fundraiser is our Sring Extravaganza. This is an amazing fundraiser. We get donations from as many local business and parents as possible. Donations can be anything. Examples are: Gift baskets, gift cards, vacation condo for a week, sporting event tickets and even services from local business such as free eye glasses and exam or maid service for a week. We rent a venue and sell tickets for 25 dollars per person which includes dinner. This is an adults only evening and the parents really enjoy it. At the event, all the donations are put into a silent auction. Games are also played at the event such as lotteries and 50/50's. Though this is a lot of work (collecting all the donations) it is so worth it. Not only does everyone have a really good time, but the money we raise is unbelievable. Our school (grades K-5) has only 400 students with less than a third of the families coming to the Spring Extravaganza, but last year, we raised $13,000. In the past 2 years, we have managed to refurbish our playground and purchase 6 smart boards on top of all the other stuff we pay for. In the next two years we are hoping to purchase 8 more smart boards so that every classroom is equipped with one. If you are looking for a great fundraiser give it a try.
