I am looking for exciting and enriching people and programs to bring in for school assemblies for k-third graders. Any ideas? This is for a school near Red Bank, NJ. Thanksyg32gj

Talking Re: enrichment

Loulou,
I'm in Freehold Twp & we've had a great program this year that had a huge variety of subjects. Literature, manners, music, the rainforest, etc. If you send me an email at home, I can send you a list along with contact information & fees. cjgiddyup@optonline.net
Also, we were able to expand our list this year at no cost by calling the Monmouth County Sheriff's Dept. They offer many programs that are great for kids. They will bring in a dog and explain how they are used by police for various purposes. The kids LOVED it! They have Diall 911 for 1st & 2nd graders to teach them the how to dial 911 & not to be afraid of the questions the caller will ask. It made them feel more comfortable about using the phone. We also always have our Fire Department bring the truck around and do Stop, Drop & Roll which is fun. They love the hats & coloring books too.

I read about YoJo on these boards a couple of years ago and finally got him (?) to our school last week. The kids LOVED YoJo. We had a program on nutrition, but they also have programs on test taking and reading available. Check out www.yojo.com.
