Talking TheaterWorks

Tuesday, we had THEATERWORKS come to our school and put on a play. It was over and beyond what we expected, they came and gave a performance of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The actors (all theater graduates) were awesome. They had awesome props and a great sound system. I would reccommend this to anyone! The kids from preschool up to 6th grade were engaged the entire time (which you rarely find). They have several different plays to choose from and I would be happy to pass along more information to anyone that would like it. They are based out New York but travel U.S.

I'd love to see contact information. We're looking for a presentation for our K-2 before the end of the year and this sounds terrific. I'm at dlflett@msn.com or if you post your email I'll zap you...d

I took my 6 year old daughter to see their production of Junie B. Jones... it was fantastic! Being a musical, we were singing some of the tunes for weeks. I'm definitely going to try and fit it in our school's budget for next year.

Here's their website

TheaterWorks does a nice job, but they don't come cheap. We have a few performance centers in the area that books the group and thousands of kids from around the area come to their performance. I would think it wouldn't be that hard to book them for a show at a high school or something similar and then the PTO could become the broker for tickets to the shows and make a bit of money along with enjoying the performance.
