Default Alpin Hong - Middle/High School Music Artist in Residence

I just can't say enough good things about Alpin Hong Homepage - he is a Julliard-trained pianist, and passionate about arts education.

Michigan native, Alpin Hong, spent 3 days in our town, played at 2 senior centers, played at our four elementary schools, our middle school, and worked with our high school music students (band, string orchestra & Choir). Our music directors loved working with him.

Alpin made such an impact on our high school students, that these fickle teenagers actually skipped lunch to hang with Alpin and by the end of his visit, he was being treated like a rock star. Teenagers vote their approval with their attendance.

He is also a great story-teller, talked about his travels, how he hated to practice, real life stuff the kids could relate to. He's also relatively young and still plays video games (and can play all the theme songs on piano for Super Mario, Star Wars and other music the teens can relate to.)

He's a human juke box!

If your local arts board is looking for a quality artist-in-residence experience, check out Alpin Hong. They will not be disappointed.
