Unhappy Emphasis, underlining in minutes

I am minutes recorder for a board of five.

Motion made and seconded criticizing president. Motion defeated but has to
go into the minutes (given to membership and prospective members )
as the maker and seconder will not withdraw motion.

Motion handed to me with part of motion underlined but that underlined section was not spoken with special emphasis and the underlining was not mentioned in the meeting.

Three who defeated motion do not want to approve the minutes with this underlining. Motion maker and seconder refuse to have it changed not to include the underlined section.

What to do?

We have searched our Robert's Rules for assistance. I can't find anything beyond a "majority rules." Three votes to two votes.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer in resolving this impasse!

I don't believe minutes should ever include underlining and emphasis.

A "motion to criticize the president" may be an improper/unallowed motion per RONR anyway and, if so, would have no place in the minutes at all. I recommend you post your question on the RONR website forum to make certain: The Official Robert's Rules Of Order Web Site
