Our PTO is meeting in early August to discuss family fun events for the upcoming school year. I was just wondering what you have planned for the upcoming school year?

We will have a welcome back ice cream social before school starts-- we've already planned 3 family fun nights-- bingo, movie night and a game night-- a Halloween dance and many fundraisers to pay for it all. Good luck!

We do BINGO for the younger kids, and the Are you smarter family evenings for 3rd and 4th grade. Three roller-skating parties. A welcome back to school Ice Cream Social. Harvest Hoopla (Halloween party). Hearts Family Social (Valentine's party). Field Day. We're also looking to add something during the December holidays.

Good luck,
PresidentJim

We have a family night, movie night, talent show, santa shop, pep assembly, carnival, and field day. We're not sure what we'll be doing for family night games, smarter than 5th grader, karoke, we'll decide at our first meeting in August.

Hi Lilly--Dreamcatchers Day is something we do for our special needs children. If you search on it there is another post that I've written all the details...in synopsis it is a great day for our children and their families that don't always get to participate in our normal PTO events due to wheelchairs, special food requirements etc....and adopt a classroom is a national program where businesses and families can put money directly into the teachers accounts for them to order supplies for their classrooms. You can learn about the program at adoptaclassroom.com. This past year our school raised over 17k that went to our teachers and that didn't count any PTO events or contributioins.

We have a small school (around 150 people) The fun fun events we plan are:

October Festival (carnival) this is a new event this year
Math Day
Spaghetti and Santa
Raffle baskets (this is our big fundraiser)
Parent Mall - we sell "booths" for parents to sell their products during the Spaghetti and Santa lunch

I have searched the board for additional information regarding Dream Catchers Day and haven't been able to locate the posting you spoke of. Can you give me details.
