Question Fall Festival Wristbands

Hello all - wondering if you could give me your input.

For our Fall Festival we sell wristbands for unlimited rides/games, and tickets for food. Last year someone forgot to bring all of the wristbands the night of the event, so all the people who had paid in advance did not have their wristbands and we also did not have a list. It all worked out, but was chaotic. I'm guessing we don't send the wristbands home with the children ahead of time because some were afraid they would lose them, or forget them. I'm just guessing that is why.

So here's my thought on how to work it = presell the wristbands; write the child's last name on any that child purchases and send them home in an envelope to the Parents' attention. Then keep a list of who did purchase in advance so if someone does forget to bring them, we'll just hand them another one.

How do the rest of you work it?

We keep a list of prepays and then hand out the bracelets on site (two lines or three if necessary to move quickly). Prepays get one or two lines and then they can buy an additional band if necessary (i.e.--my little grandbaby stopped by--can she get a band too).

I be afraid of sending home a prepaid just because--well you know--people forget etc. So regardless you have to have a list there--why not just hand out the bands there as well. If you just hand them another one--you may miss some charges by those less than honorable folks who will say they forgot--but really didn't and now they've got a 2 for 1 deal.

Just my thoughts--don't mean to sound pessimistic about human nature -- but may be worth consideration...

Wristbands are used for our middle school dances, too. The student gets the wristband when they buy their ticket (the few days before the Friday night event). It's their responsibilty not to lose the band, so most kids go ahead and put it on. So far, no complaints from kdis or parents.
