My dad made me watch the Nixon impeachment trials.... "It's history in the making!"

The most interesting version of the moon landing I ever saw was in A Walk on the Moon. Mmmmmm Viggo Mortensen.

I remember seeing Reagan being shot and not understanding what the big deal was and why they would put cartoons back on.
Teh best memory was when I was 7 and they announced on CBS that Elvis died. We were at a friend's home and Mom was quilting with 10 other women. I went into the room and asked who was Elvis PResley because some guy said he died. The room was so quiet then they all just began to cry. I thought I did something wrong!

The worst was Columbine. The shootings began at lunch time and here in Denver it was like the coverage of 9/11. I finally turned off the TV and went to the school but there I couldn't get in because of the lock down as the "other school on the list" was down the hill from our school. Never again would I ever want to move back to Des Moines.

Anyway, BBQ for 100+ tomorrow, should get back to work. ugh....

Wink

I had to explain to my son why we "dial" a phone when there's no dial, roll down a window when there's nothing to roll, and why a CD is called a Record. On that last one, he actually asked me if it was hard to listen to them in the car?!?!?!?!?

I'll get my revenge when he tries to explain PCs and Ipods to his kids!

Ooooooo, I'm old!! I remember my kid sister being like this but I was an old married lady by then.

I'm more of the Brady Bunch, bike w/banana seat and sissy bar, collecting and returning pop bottles to buy candy at the 7eleven generation I saw original episodes of Get Smart, Dragnet and Happy Days. And I wanted to be Lori Partridge when I grew up. Well, it turns out I'm Mrs. Brady instead! At least that's what my sisters call me.

And it never even occured to my dad that a tv could use a remote control because he had six kids. "Wanda, turn it up; Sam, change the channel, no wait, turn it back. Tammy, turn it down. Don't even get me started on the Vertical and Horizontal Hold buttons!!!!!

OMGh!! Dad just finally figured out it's okay to have the TV, VCR, and dish all on the same remote and hooked up together! Then again my sibblings and I got them a VCR a few years back and my daughter taught Dad how to use it! She was 10!

Now she is 15 and CORRECTS ME about artists from the 80's! Okay, I rocked out to WHAM! not a big KISS fan and she is but still!!!

horizontal hold....we would mess with the color tint so Mom's soap hottie looked green! HA!
