Hi Treehouse--is that what you meant to post?

Just had a photog here to take a family photo of us for posterity. How stressful is that. My knees have been killing me and I looked like I was 90 years old trying to get up and down in the poses. Also felt the need to get the decorating done and that was painful as well! Hubby and I are exhausted and probably won't hold up our side of the bargain to get a tree today. At least it was a bit easier with the boys. Tried to keep them in a good mood but then they were monkeying around. If we upset them they'd have been dour and icky...no way to win...

We need to do a family photo sometime soon too:haven't done one forever. I guess that's mostly because I HATE to have my picture taken.

I still have to do the garland down the staircase, then the inside will be done. Had the outside done until the wind went crazy last week and snapped off one of my decorative lighted pines and bent the other. I tried to do some repair yesterday, but it was so darn cold and the soil in the pots was frozen solid, so I couldn't drive a stake in or get the broken post out. No one offered to help either-too busy watching football.

I have a Bunco Christmas party tonight-hopefully that will bring me out of the funk I'm in right now!

Christmas photos.... We never did any of those. I usually send Shorty's lastest school photo but he is not very pleased with this year's picture. Everyone has a bad year (or, in my case, several.... well, OK, all of them...) but anyway, we'll use his 8th grade graduation picture for this year's Christmas card.

Finals this week and then I have two whole years of college under my belt! woo hoo. Thanks for your kind words, d. It has been a challenge but I don't want to blow this chance now that it's finally here. Darn it but it's true about math - use it or lose it. That mean's three years to get my associates degree and then two more years at university but, hey, five years after waiting 25 years is fine with me!

So, I got two more blood clots to add to my list of medical maladies. Yippee. Four hours in the ER on Saturday. The fun just never ends. Twice daily injections of lovenox overlapped with coumadin for the next week. Then coumadin for a year at least. I HATE coumadin. The cool thing was that the doppler tech let me watch the screen while she scanned my leg. Well, icky, but still cool. The human body is amazing. I got to see one of my clots, just waving at me like we're friends. But we are not friends. Now that I know what the enemy looks out, it's full scale war!!!

Oh yeah, and if you ever have to give yourself shots, be very careful not to pick a site with stetch marks. Needles do not like stretch marks. OUCH. I mean I have plenty of other fatty tissue (really, plenty!). I didn't have to pick that spot. I was just being careless. Not anymore.....

When I had my knee surgery I asked to just be numbed in the lower half because the doctor said I could then watch the surgery. Well, just like Benadryl, the anesthetic knocked me out completely. The doc did give me photos of the inside of my knee, so I could see what the damage looked like. Little bone fragments floating around and sticking out of the back side of my kneecap like little needles. Like you said "icky, but still cool."

Oy--my knees have been killers lately. I'm hoping working on the perpetual weight loss will help....we'll see!

Oh, I'm going to live forever. My dad says that the women on my mom's side of the family live forever because they're too stubborn to die. I've been called stubborn, stoic, strong-willed, hard-headed ~ and a few other things ~ so I'm counting on at least 80 or 90, if not longer!

Everyone I know with bad knees says they're worse than ever right now. Knock on wood, that's one complaint I don't have.

So, suddenly Illinois doesn't have a governor or a senator. Obama is trying to figure out how to lead the country and Blagojevich got caught trying to sell Obama's recently vacated seat to the highest bidder. I know it's Chicago but, really, the politicians there need to let go of their Al Capone, gangster ways. It's just embarrasing for the rest of the state. Now we'll all get a lesson on politics when we find out who steps up to fill the roles.

it is the same old story--people gain power and think they're above the law and the ones administering the law. Thank goodness the brilliance of our forefathers set up the separate but equal legislative powers. No one can rise above the other. Blagojevich ought to be sold to the highest bidder. I hear jacka** meat is expensive. Donate his money to people who really work and earn what they have.

Yikes, did you hear the words "they said" came out of Blagojevich and his wife's mouth? They ought to be ashamed of themselves...boy, really gives Illinois a bad name.
