Sometimes my kids come up with some off the wall stuff, and I'm sure yours do too. I just had to share something that my 7 y/o daughter said the other day when I told her to get ready for school. She had PE that day so she had to wear her tennies instead of sandals. You have to understand that Erika HATES to wear socks, but I told her she had to anyway. Her response was, "But MMMOOOOOOMMMMM! Socks CHOKE my TOES!"

OK...if you don't find this as amusing as I do, it's probably because you don't know Erika, but I thought it was hilarious.

I found it funny - for what it's worth.

I've got one.
My son is soon to be 8 and is a reforming picky eater. He has come a long way except when it comes to new foods. I had served something new and different and he said he didn't like it. I replied that he hadn't even tried it how did he know he didn't like it.
He said his eyes told him.
I guess that is somewhat true!

My husband was getting dressed one morning while my daughter was on the bed with me. He was looking in the mirror, lamenting the passing of time.
He looked at his reflection and said 'Man, I'm getting old', to which my daughter responds, 'You're not old daddy, you're new'.

....it still makes me smile.

couple years ago when my daughter was 2 1/2 came running to us screaming "the tomatoes are coming the tomatoes" you better hide or get juicy. We asked her what and then all the sudden her brother came screaming "the tornados are coming" And it was when we where having tornado warnings

Every once in awhile when the sirens go off we all laugh is it tomatoes?

My husband's grandfather just passed away last week. He lived next door to us. His wife died almost 3 years ago. When we first found out, my 6 year old looked at me and said, "I'm so happy, now Grandma has someone to celebrate her birthday (next month) with her in heaven." My husband and I were just stunned that he would even remember her birthday, let alone, think past his own grief.
So maybe it's not funny but it makes me smile!

These were all so cute and so sweet.

Me my hubby laugh when the kids say those "kid things" we always think no filter it just comes out as they see it. Its nice to see the world throught their eyes sometimes.

I always have to wonder what is going on inside those little brains. To think . . . we are only hearing a small part of it -- the stuff they figure is worth saying! Who knows what else is going on in there?
