It's been awhile since I checked out scrip programs. Do any of you currently have good, solid programs that offer an on-line component?

My schools don't use scrip and my church, which used to have a program, stopped last year.

I typically buy some sort of gift cards for 6 nieces and nephews for Christmas. If it's possible to do this AND benefit one of you - so much the better.

But I don't want either of us to get into too much hassel just for 6 cards (mailing and such). So that's why I'm asking if there's an online component where I could just order for myself and you'd get the credit. If so, post the link in this thread. Maybe there are some others who might be interested also.

Unfortunately, GL does not have such a deal, and it seems like most people using scrip are doing it through them. But I have a suggestion that may work for you. Do you have a kid in a school that collects BoxTops for Education, or are you a BoxTops Booster club member for someone else's school? If you go to the BoxTops for Education website and log in through their online marketplace, you can buy gift certificates for a whole bunch of companies at giftcertificates.com, and your designated school will get 2% of the sale. Depending on how you want the certificate delivered, and how much you buy, the shipping cost might end up being prohibitive, but check it out....

Thanks, mum. I'll check it out.

By the way I just heard a cute idea about gift cards for Christmas. A friend of mine that has a large extended family told me hers does the following.

Each person brings a gift card/certificate for a designated amount from any store they like. Then they have a white elephant gift exchange with the group picking numbers, selecting a sealed envelope, and deciding whether to keep what they got or "steal" someone else's.

I think it sounds like a lot of fun. Everyone spends the same amount and goes home with a giftcad - it's just a question of WHERE the card is usable.
