Here I sit at my computer as I am waiting for water to boil in order to make pasta salad. Why? Well only true PTOers would appreciate this? Today is feed the staff day as payback for them winning the staff/parent volleyball match!
So last night they are saying lake effect snow and I am like watching the tv hoping not for a snow day...what else would you do with 9 dozen rolls, three meat trays, too many bags of chips, ALOT of salad and lots of deserts!
As I sit here I really needed to share because you know it must be that Parent group bug that would make you do something like that! At least today is hat day as part of Read Across America Week, to bad I dont have a chef's hat when I feed them!! You know we do some strange things...I should be in bed counting sheep...not worrying if my pasta is going to stick...hee hee hee. have a good day!

You are so not alone. Last Friday I made 4 dozen cupcakes, about 20 batches of popcorn for 10 classes, and found other misc. treats to reward 3 classes for other stuff. This was just a normal Friday. When we do staff food it's crazy because there are only 2 parents doing PTO. We never complain about it, but we both thank our lucky stars that we purchased vehicles with lots of cargo room!

I envy you guys! I would love to be able to do stuff like this at my school...our PTO sucks. You know what I've done for PTO this YEAR so far? Arrange a fundraising night at our local indoor play place. Took ten minutes. Oh, and I've been to one meeting, the only one we've had. I have this fantasy of getting you two and me together to run a PTO, and have Critter be treasurer. We'd rule the world!!

Why are you up at 5:30 a.m.??? Because you care about your kids and the other kids at your school!!! If the teachers are happy then the kids are happy, that's what it's all about.
Oh, does that remind you of a song?
I would love to know how you set up the volleyball match..
You guys ROCK!!

In September, we held a BBQ to welcome all the staff back to school. The school rented a gas grill for me to use and while setting up the heavy metal door fell on my hand! A couple guys were trying to secure the door open and my hand got in the way...yeah something like that. Wrong place wrong timeing!
Anyway, a couple ibupropens and ice packs later, the show went on and I cooked 125 burgers for everyone and while the new school board ( we have a parent board) cleaned-up (one member lives blocks from me) I went to the doctor. Only thing broken was my ego and I had very badly brusied fingers and part of my hand.
renting a charcoal grill this year...no lid.

Ugh!!! I'm trying to get the pto I am now with on the right track. (principal keeps thinking she can spend money w/o the pto's approval or discussing it) Everyone is for the bookfair, family fun night, & selling pies to raise money for laminator, projectors... for the teachers but why am I the only one planning everything? (all this is happening the first week in Apr.)Everybody wants, wants, wants....but nobody wants to help. If I don't get enough help for FFN, I will pull the plug & turn it into theme day just for the kids. The things we do for the kids!!!

Theme day is where the teachers pick a theme & each room has a different activity going on & the students with parent helpers go to each class. There's been Christmas themes ( I got to roll out gingerbread cookies & bake them so the kids could decorate them), Thanksgiving theme day, Healthy living themes, 100 day themes.....

OMG Renee I feel your pain and ready for July!! We have all the final details to work out for the info night next week and I'm one the phone non stop! There is an event the next day that the PTO is helping with but everyone is upset because I already have somewhere else to be with my kids!
I would love to have a clone sometimes, but at what cost!
And all I want to do is bake cookies but that doesn't help anyone!! ....hhhhmmmmmmm......

July....somehow We are having the 4th of July party at my house. Don't know how that happened. Guess it's my turn. I got my dunk tank for family fun night. Now I have to convince the cops to hop in it. My principal won't do anything like this. To top it off the bookfair won't be delivered until the day it starts. Ugh!!! Oh well, I'll keep plugging along & grit my teeth.
Maybe a couple of clones.... I know how you feel. What we need is a girls night out!!!!!!
