Default Best Volunteer Boards

I would like to recognize our volunteers by name on a board/bullentin in the lobby. Does anyone have any goods ideas about layout, how to manage the list, type of materials to use? Pictures of what you have done.

Thank you for any suggestions.

You could title it - Volunteers are stars in our eyes and put each name on a heart. You could also say - Our volunteers have the magic touch and put each name on a magic hat or magic wand. You could also say - Volunteers are a treasure and put each name on a treasure chest. I found all of these ideas on a website at www.thankscompany.com. They have lots of volunteer celebration ideas and products. I plan on shopping with them this year. Good luck to you.

we have done this for three years now and it is really nice. This year we have the theme "be a piece of the puzzle" the bulletin board has puzzle pieces all over it on a background that is all neoncolors. We then take pictures of people volunteering during the whole year and put them up, so we are constantly adding faces. I try to get fun pictures so people see volunteering is fun.
Along side of it we have our chart for volunteer hours as hours are logged the chart gets filled in until we reach our goal, but we keep going! Another thing we do is profiles on volunteers, just little tidbits on what they like about volunteering, favorit volunteer moment, etc.
We then have a new wall this year which is our PTO Today 2 Hour wall which has stars with names on all of the people who have given their two hours this year. Doing something like this truly makes a difference and the kids love looking at the pictures!

At the beginning of this school year I purchased a tree from Holcombs. (Its an educational store) I hung the tree on the wall by the school office. Every time someone volunteers, they get their name written on a leaf and I hang it on the tree. We call it our PTO Volunteer Tree.

Do you have a photo of your bulletin board? This sounds like a really nice idea! How is everyone keeping track of your volunteer hours?

I'd love to know how the hours are being tracked, too? Do tell......

Well, of course, the easy way to track volunteer hours (not to mention all kinds of other neat benefits) is by using our PTO Manager software.

Have you taken a tour?

We do a walk of fame and use foot prints. It's simple to keep track of hours if your teachers are willing to help you. We have a volunteer sign up in our Welcome back packets and parents turn them in.....they have to volunteer a total of 6 hours to get one set of prints. The teachers turn them into our PTO mailbox when the volunteer has reached 6 hours, and then we put up the prints. One of our hallways is the PTO walk of fame. We have lots of prints.........

These are all such wonderful ideas, I am bringing them up at the next meeting. What a great way to recognize the people who work so hard at the school. Great ideas!
