Karaoke Fundraiser

Pine Shadows PTA parents successfully used karaoke to raise money at their carnival. Fairgoers paid $1 each for each song they performed. “Most kids don’t want to sing alone—so if a group of five kids sang together, you would get $5,” explains board member Jennifer Rodgers. “We also recorded the songs for an additional fee. I found blank audio tapes on eBay (huge lot for super cheap!). We put a blank label on each one and for $5, the child could get a recording of their song. We wrote the song and the ‘artist’ on the label.”
