Fence Decoration Fundraiser

The Birch Street Elementary PTA in Kalkaska, Mich., runs a “Trouts for Sprouts” playground fundraiser each year. Leaders sell wooden trout cutouts. Families decorate them and return them to the school. Leaders then spray the cutouts with polyurethane and attach them to the chain link fences surrounding the playground. Why the fuss about trout? Kalkaska is home of the National Trout Festival.
