Healthy Farmers Market for Students

“In an effort to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle, the Withers PTA sponsored a ‘healthy choices’ buffet for the entire school. The science lab was transformed into a miniature farmers market, with parents offering samples of everything from fennel to pomegranate seeds, celery to cilantro. Students were given a complete menu of choices and encouraged to make notes about their likes and dislikes to share with parents. The event was an inexpensive way to expose students to a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs they may not have tried before.”
