To build community involvement, the North Caddo High School PTSA met with local ministers in Vivian, La. The small school is located in a rural area, and the group has focused on marshaling support from churches, businesses, and grandparents. Since then, several volunteer tutors have worked with students who need extra attention. “People are willing to help if they are aware of the needs,” says PTSA president Penny McCurdy.
