Franklin PTA leaders have two great ways to “connect” with families at the school. Leaders hang a paper chain in the hallway with the names of all families at the school. And in the group’s newsletter, they include a segment titled “My First Hour Volunteering.” Each month, a different parent leader publishes her story. It’s a great way to break the ice with parents who might be nervous about getting involved.
