“At the beginning of the year, a volunteer form is given to all parents. On it, we ask if they are available to help during the day, during the evening, or if they can only help from home. We have used those ‘home volunteers’ to make phone calls prior to fundraiser pickup day (virtually eliminating forgotten orders), to prepare newsletters for mailing, and to bake for our bake sales. It helps the PTO a great deal and allows people who cannot attend meetings or functions to contribute and participate.”
